ANOTHER GOOD RECIPE

I found this recipe over at Angela's blog. I originally found her when I was researching a wood cookstove and she had just bought one. She's living my dream!!! Totally off grid....love it!

Anyway, this is super simple (for you Janice) and everyone will have all of the ingredients in stock. That's important to me.

FRUIT COCKTAIL CAKE

Grease a 9x13 pan and preheat the oven to 350

2 cups of flour
2 cups of sugar
2 tsp baking soda
2 eggs
1 tsp salt
1 - 16 oz can fruit cocktail undrained

Combine all the ingredients using an electric mixer (or by hand if you're off grid) for 1 -2 minutes. Pour into pan.
Sprinkle top with:
4 - 6 Tbsp brown sugar (oh you know I used 6)
1 cup chopped walnuts

Bake 45 minutes. Cool completely. Top with whipped cream.

This is soooooooo good! It was even better this morning at breakfast! I think I need a sweets intervention! lol

  1. Sounds tasty.

If you're off grid? How do you blog? I've wondered that. Internet connection? Charging laptops? Powering PC's? I'm totally ignorant on how all that would work. I think that would be a blog post in itself!

  2. Hey Team Hall - you know that i appreciate the good work that you are doing here!

i noticed that you had followed our friend the Scavenger over to the Kentucky Preppers Network as did i...apparently they have registered the Canadian Preppers Network now so that no one could steal it later (these guys are soooo on the ball!). they are looking for someone to head it up - would you be willing? i would love to help with it but as i live in the city and am not a proper prepper - my first thought was YOU COULD DO IT!!!

i promise to help and support and help and whatnot and they have put up that network so fast - i really feel that we need to jump on the opportunity! as i am not a current blogger i thought maybe you would step up? i will bring alot of canadian traffic to the site and find others to help and of course i will post or blog or whatever...

    what say you to this?

    your friend,
    kymber
